The ice beasts are famed creatures from Thellingerstan, and can also be found in other regions of the Throne of Heaven Mountains, notably Ut'Bharma. They are large bear-like creatures that move on all fours and have three eyes, three huge horns and a horned tail for striking with. They have white and grey striped fur which is much prized. When they die their eyes instantly freeze into translucent watery blue orbs that are very precious, known as ice pearls. They live only above the snow line, but will descend to the valleys to raid Thell herds.

Combat: Ice beasts are primarily scavengers and opportunists. They will attack if threatened, or if hungry or sick but generally they avoid intelligent prey. Once in battle, however, they are fierce opponents using tail, horns and teeth to devastating effect.
Cold Aura (Ex): The body of an ice beast generates immense cold. Anyone within 5 ft. automatically suffers 1d6 cold damage per round.
Ice Walk (Ex): An ice beast is able to walk on an icy or slippery surface at normal speed, and does not suffer a penalty to Balance checks under these circumstances.
Skills: An ice beast has a +6 racial bonus to Balance checks and a +2 racial bonus to Spot checks. It gains a +8 racial bonus to Climb checks. It may always Take 10 on Balance and Climb checks, even if rushed or threatened. An ice beast has a +8 racial bonus to Hide checks in snowy conditions.
Ice Pearls: The three eyes of an ice beast solidify upon its death, and are value as precious stones by many. Each eye is worth 10gp (1000 yen) per Hit Die that the ice beast possesses, thus a typical 4HD ice beast will yield 3 ice pearls of 40gp (4000 yen) value each.
