Orlatki
Orlatk (or-LAT-kuh, plural orlatki) are scavengers with the bodies of stubby muscular dogs (like pit bull terriers) with bald, beaked heads like vultures. They travel in packs, eating carrion and when bold and hungry they will stalk live prey. Their behaviour is like that of jackals. Orlatki are mainly found in the taiga of Vaarta, mostly in the far west around the Land of Frozen Tears, but occasionally some move eastwards into Ut'Bharma or may be found in menageries and arenas.

Combat: Orlatki are opportunists, hunting in packs. Typically, one orlatk will trip an opponent allowing another orlatk to close and attach. They are easily startled by loud noise and fire, but will not run far if none of the pack are too seriously injured. An orlatk may not attempt to trip and attach with the same bite attack.

Attack (Ex): An orlatk that hits with its bite can attach and automatically causes bite damage each round that it remains attached. An attached orlatki loses its Dex bonus to Armour Class and has an AC of 13. An attached orlatk may be struck with a weapon or grappled itself. To remove an attached orlatk through grappling requires a successful pin attempt. Orlatki have a +4 racial bonus to grapple (included above).

Trip (Ex): An orlatk that hits with its bite attack may make an immediate trip attempt (+2 check modifier) as a swift action. If the attempt fails the opponent may not attempt to trip the orlatk.
